Cadets have the opportunity to engage with optional competitive training to improve their own skills and gain valuable job experience

Cadets may choose to compete for a slot on the Ranger Challenge team. Ranger Challenge involves more advance Physical Training, Marksmanship Training, Medical Training, and additional individual soldier skills, culminating in Brigade and National level competitions.

Cadets may compete to earn slots to Proficiency schools, including Airborne, Air Assault, Northern Warfare, Pathfinder, Sapper, and Combat Diver schools.

Cadets may apply for DoD Internships over the summer, gaining job experience as well as the opportunity to travel overseas or to new areas in the United States.

Project GO provides cadets learning a foreign language to travel abroad and study their language while immersed in the native culture.

After completing Advanced Camp, cadets may apply to conduct Cadet Troop Leader Training, shadowing a Platoon Leader (PL), gaining insight into Army Branches and their role as a PL.
